Misaligned teeth can cause difficulties with speaking and eating, as well as keep your smile from looking its best. Comfortable, removable, and nearly invisible, Invisalign® braces offered at our Bristow office can straighten your teeth without the conspicuous appearance of traditional metal braces. Rather than bonding irritating metal braces to your teeth, Dr. Hendrickson will provide you with a set of custom-molded Invisalign® aligners that will gradually reposition your teeth without disrupting your lifestyle — simply remove the aligners to eat, brush, and floss.
Each set of Invisalign® aligners is custom-crafted based on 3-D digital models of your teeth created here in our office, and designed to subtly shift the positions of your teeth with a minimum of discomfort during your treatment. In most cases, Invisalign® produces results more quickly than traditional braces — often within 6 to 12 months — and thanks to the transparent materials used to make the aligners, most people won't even be able to tell when you're wearing them.
As part of our ongoing commitment to advancing patient safety in our practice through the latest technology, we use digital x-rays, which reduce radiation exposure up to 90 percent over traditional x-ray machines. Faster, safer, and more comfortable than traditional methods, digital x-ray radiography allows us to obtain far more detailed information almost instantly, using a small digital sensor with no film or chemicals. Instead of squinting at a fuzzy piece of film, we can zoom, enlarge, and target potential dental problems with pinpoint accuracy, helping us to catch small dental problems before they become large ones. We can also display your digital x-rays for you to see and discuss them with you, helping to make sure you are fully informed and in control of your own dental treatment.
Many people associate dental visits with fear or anxiety due to childhood trauma or memories of painful dental treatment. For a few people, even the sound of a dentist's drill is enough to trigger an alarmed reaction. However, many of these people may not be aware that most dental procedures can be performed without pain or discomfort thanks to the modern relaxation and sedation dentistry options offered at our practice. Dr. Amanda Hendrickson and her entire team are highly trained in providing safe, effective sedation dentistry for all patients, ensuring that even the most nervous of patients can get the treatment they need to maintain proper oral health and achieve a healthy smile without unnecessary worry, stress, or pain.
Composite or tooth-colored fillings have taken the place of the amalgam or metal fillings used in the past. Not only are composite fillings virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth, but they also bond to teeth, making them stronger and more resistant to fractures. If you have a cavity and need to protect your tooth from further decay, contact our office to find out if a composite filling is the right option for you.
Bristow Dental Designs offers several teeth whitening options. Zoom! in-office teeth whitening begins by applying a resin barrier to protect your gums from coming into contact with the whitening gel. A light-activated gel is applied to each tooth. A laser or special light is used to activate the gel. The gel is removed from your teeth using suction. The whitening gel is reapplied 2 to 3 more times to reach the desired shade. Each session lasts about 15 minutes and the entire procedure can be completed in less than 90 minutes.
Patients can also whiten their teeth in the comfort of their own home with our take-home whitening system also by Zoom! Custom trays are fabricated to exactly fit your teeth. You use professional-strength, whitening gel in the trays to gradually whiten your teeth. After you reach the desired shade, you can use your trays to touch up the whitening, as needed. You can also use the take-home trays after an in-office whitening to touch up your teeth a few times a year when stains from food or drink start to appear.
Zoom! touch of pens also offers patients a great alternative to touch up treatments by being portable and easy to apply. Its a pen you can carry in your purse, leave in your desk at work or travel with you in a carry-on. Eliminates the need for trays and messy clean-up when you are on the go.
Bristow Dental Designs offers the latest technology in early detection of dental decay. The Diagnodent Laser is used to detect a cavity in the tooth before it is visible in the mouth. This leads to much less expensive and less envasive treatment for children and adults.
